Fun while it lasted

Sounds like a goodbye, doesn't it? But no! This has been a fun little blog, but it's time to move up. After all, we're enjoying the ability to interact directly with our customers more easily though social media outlets, so we can't just stick with Blogspot now, can we? (No offense, Blogspot. You're swell.)

In the next week or two, we'll be unveiling a shiny new blog over at the official Coast to Coast Tickets site, where you'll find discount codes, info on new tours and events, and posts regarding site issues (if our site ever has issues, which we hope never happens).

You'll find the link here once it's ready to go, and we hope you'll join us on the new blog!

CTC Tickets' first $100 giveaway has officially begun!

We always like to say that we're nice people at Coast to Coast, and we think that once you get to know us, you'll agree. So we're giving away a $100 gift card just to convince people to come get to know us!

Here's the story on how to win... if you're looking for a nice relaxing sleep aid, you can go to www.coasttocoasttickets.com/contests.shtml for the long legal version.

Enter to win a $100 gift card good towards anything on the Coast to Coast Tickets website! Just pick out the tickets you want and use the gift card like cash on our site - and yes, the gift card can be used to take care of service charges and shipping too, meaning that if your total purchase after shipping and fees comes to $100 or less, you'll get your tickets for absolutely free!

How to Enter (Including Bonus Entries!)

Entering is simple: just sign up as a fan of Coast to Coast Tickets on Facebook, and you're automatically entered to win! (You do need to have a Facebook account to become a fan of Coast to Coast Tickets.) It's really that easy. If you're a fan of Coast to Coast Tickets on Facebook on the day we select the winner, you could win!

Want a better chance of winning? You can earn up to two bonus entries by watching the CTCTickets Twitter stream (you can follow us on Twitter at twitter.com/CTCTickets, or check our Twitter feed on the "Boxes" tab of our Facebook page). At two random times during the contest, we'll post a bonus entry code on Twitter. Post a comment on our Facebook wall with that code within 8 hours of the time we posted it on Twitter, and you'll receive an additional entry into the contest! (Extra entry codes posted more than 8 hours after our posting them on Twitter will not be counted. Sorry.)

The winner will be selected on May 4, 2009, so don't wait to join up! And keep an eye on our Facebook wall - we'll be around, letting people know whether their extra entries were counted and answering questions about the contest, or upcoming events, or about the site in general. Only one Facebook account per person can be entered, and the winner's name MUST match the name on the Facebook account to use the gift card. Anyone joining with multiple Facebook accounts will be disqualified (sorry, no pet pages or business pages, even if your poodle DOES have his own Facebook account).

Good luck, and spread the word to your friends!

Brent Spiner's more than just an android

Star Trek fans will probably remember Brent Spiner as Data, but did you know he does theater too? His most recent stint was in a reprise of Man of La Mancha in LA, directed by Jason Alexander, to great reviews. What's his next plans for the stage? We don't know yet, but when it happens, we can get you there!

The following video's a must-watch for anyone wanting a glimpse into Data's human side. (I watched it twice. Data FTW!)

King of Pop, or King of the Jungle?

Looks like King of Pop Michael Jackson still isn't have any trouble staying on top when it comes to ticket sales, or general word-of-mouth buzz. The publicity isn't all good, but when you hold a spot in history the way MJ does, the type of publicity doesn't seem to matter all that much. This time he's being called out by PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) in protest of his plans to ride an elephant onto the stage in his upcoming tour at London's O2 arena, as well as plans to feature a variety of other exotic animals in his show. Will Michael's plans change, or will he find a way to appease the animal rights' groups? We'd love to hear your thoughts - should Michael abandon the idea of using animals in his concert tour, or do you think that he can find a way to feature the animals without harming them?

(And yes, for those who don't have them yet, we have Michael Jackson tickets for sale!)

Wicked tickets still defying gravity

If you've been watching the top-selling events across the country (well, across the globe, really) for a while, you've seen the theater show Wicked at the top for a good long time now. So what is it about the show that is keeping audiences so enthralled? Much as I hate to just throw out a Wikipedia article, there are simply too many productions of the show to focus on just one, so you can read the Wikipedia article here for a full rundown of the show's history and information about each specific production, from Broadway to the traveling shows.

Think you can't make it to such a big show? Here's a tiny sample of what we have in the way of Wicked tickets. Notice that these shows are only one days' worth of Wicked - on the Coast to Coast Tickets website, you'll find a list of shows that stretches out through March of 2010! With so many productions out there, there's no excuse not to find out why it's stayed on top so long!

Bring on the music festivals!

It's a hot time for music festivals around the country, and the artists this year just keep getting bigger. Is that a good thing? Some people may say no, as in the case of Paul McCartney playing at Coachella. April's coming fast, and the lineup will include everything from the soulful Amy Winehouse, to Cage the Elephant, to techno and trance gurus Crystal Method, to the eclectic sounds of the Drive-By Truckers.

What do you think - should the traditionally-indie festivals stick with indie artists, or do you think that adding a legend like McCartney to this year's line-up enhances it? From the look of ticket sales, not many people seem to be concerned. Three-day passes to Coachella at Empire Polo Field are going fast, and you can still catch them at Coast to Coast!

If you're into Coachella, you should also have a couple other purchases on your radar, including tickets to the major music festival Bonnaroo, which will be held this year in June at Manchester Farm, TN. And later this year, in AUgust, you can catch HippieFest, which is sure to help you reconnect with days past, and don't miss the New Orleans Jazz Festival in April!

The economy isn't where it used to be, but you don't have to buy tickets to every performer that comes to your town in order to have an amazing time seeing amazing musicians. Catch the festivals, and get more music than you know what to do with - and be sure to buy your tickets from a place that offers a full guarantee of your purchase. When you buy from our site, you know that we'll get you in on time, and for the price you expect, or you'll get your money back!

Holiday gifts made easy

As the holiday season creeps up, gifts are on everyone's mind, and tickets are just as popular a gift as ever!

So what tickets are selling this year? Amazingly, the top event is one that's held that spot determinedly and appears to be poised to keep doing so: The Broadway show Wicked. We just can't seem to get enough of it, so if you haven't seen it yet, you are DEFINITELY missing out! Close on its heels in terms of sales and popularity is the annual Radio City Christmas Spectacular, followed by the less seasonally-themed AC/DC tour. Other top show tickets on sale right now (are you paying attention for those gift ideas?) include The Eagles tickets, Jersey Boys tickets, Dancing with the Stars tickets and Trans-Siberian Orchestra tickets, all of which can be found at Coast to Coast Tickets, and all of which are covered by our 100% guarantee. Not only do you get to be as picky as you like about what seats you get (and we have some great ones), but you can relax knowing that what you buy will be what you get, or you get a complete refund! We love being able to give people that peace of mind, and it shows in the repeat business we see.

If those shows still don't fit the bill, other major events topping the charts for the 2008 holiday season include the Madonna Sticky and Sweet Tour, New York Giants and Knicks tickets, and SEC Championship Game tickets.

The events may be big, but the wrapping job isn't, so come browse what we've got, and find the gift that will make their jaws drop! It's, easy, and it's all at Coast to Coast. :)
